Apprentices - building the future ...

| We are looking for employers
who can offer young construction apprentices aged 16 - 19 the opportunity
to gain quality on-site work experience and collect site evidence.
Leeds City Council provide quality apprenticeship
training delivered by our professional construction
team in the following skill areas: |

- Carpentry & Joinery (Wood Occupations)
- Brickwork (Trowel Occupations)
- Plastering
- Painting
& Decorating
|
|
Our Apprentices have already gained:
-
a college place
funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC)
-
a red trainee card
and are working towards NVQ Level 2 in their chosen skill area
-
Manual Handling and
Health & Safety certification
-
a full induction
into the construction industry
-
Skills for Life and
Key Skills certification (or working towards this)

the employer throughout the work experience placement
provide dedicated and experienced
staff to oversee the supervision
of the apprentice .
administer all necessary paperwork
ie. Health & Safety, Risk Assessment and placement documentation and
advise on insurance
requirements
provide all the
apprentice’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
